Pavilion Manager Needed

The Covington Township Board of Supervisors will be accepting applications for Pavilion Manager. The qualified candidate will be required to manage the rentals of the Moffat pavilion, including, but not limited to, maintaining a calendar of scheduled rentals, collecting all fees associated with the rentals, assuring the rules and regulations of the pavilion are being upheld, assuring the pavilion is returned to it’s previous condition at the end of each rental, opening/closing the pavilion after each rental. Weekends are a must. The rental season for the pavilion is Spring, Summer, and early Fall each year. Applications can be found online at www.covingtontwp.org and will be accepted until May 25, 2023.





Township Office Closed

The offices will be closed from Monday, April 24, 2023 thru Friday, April 28, 2023. The office will re-open on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 8:00 am. The zoning officer will be available on Tuesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 27 for limited hours in the morning.




Trash Pick Up

Volunteers are needed for road clean up on Center Street in Covington Township. More roads to follow once dates are decided on. For additional information, please see flyer below:


Spring Clean Up dates set

The annual Spring Clean-Up will be held on Friday, May 19th and Saturday, May 20th from 8am to 5pm only. Like last year, there will be NO paper permits. You will need to show your photo I.D. to the township employee, showing your Covington Township address. We are encouraging everyone to remove unsightly junk and debris from their properties. The following items will NOT be taken at the clean-up: Hazardous waste, gasoline, kerosene, paint, paint cans, oil, oil containers, combustible fuels, building materials or household garbage.

With the exception of tires, the clean-up is free of charge. ALL tires must be REMOVED from their rims. The fees for the tires are to be announced.

The clean-up area is located behind the Covington Fire Department. Please remember to enter the clean-up area from Dorantown Road (the road directly behind the Fire house) and exit via Route 502.

Part-Time Police Officer needed

The Covington Township Chief of Police is currently accepting applications for a part-time police officer.  Applicants must be Act 120 Certified, possess a valid PA Driver’s License, must be of good moral character, and pass an extensive background investigation.  For more information contact Chief Robert Bastek at 570-842-6400.  Applications are available at the Covington Township Police Department or via the website, www.covingtontwp.org.  Applications and/or resumes may be submitted to Covington Township Police Department, Attn: Chief Bastek, 4 John J.
