Part-Time Police Officer needed

The Covington Township Chief of Police is currently accepting applications for a part-time police officer.  Applicants must be Act 120 Certified, possess a valid PA Driver’s License, must be of good moral character, and pass an extensive background investigation.  For more information contact Chief Robert Bastek at 570-842-6400.  Applications are available at the Covington Township Police Department or via the website, www.covingtontwp.org.  Applications and/or resumes may be submitted to Covington Township Police Department, Attn: Chief Bastek, 4 John J. Sale of Items

The Covington Township Supervisors are accepting bids for the following items: 2003 Ford F550XLT Dump Truck regular cab w/stainless steel dump box, stainless Flink spreader and 9’ Fisher minute mount plow; Ford 515 Tractor, Model # DU124C, 8 speed, transmission, 3 point hitch, no title; Thumb for tractor/loader/backhoe, can be welded or bolted on.    All items will be sold “AS IS” and are listed on the Municibid website at www.municibid.com. All bids must be placed through the website.  The auction will begin on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 8:00am and conclude at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 20, 2023 where the highest bidder will be awarded at the end of the auction.  The Board of Supervisors reserve the right to reject any and all bids.

Public Hearing ~ Short-term Rental Ordinance

The Covington Township Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at the Municipal Office, 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444 on Thursday April 20, 2023 at 6:30 pm.  The Hearing is being held to consider adopting Ordinance #2023-03 Covington Township Short-Term Rental Ordinance which will repeal Ordinance 2021-01, The Short-Term Rental Ordinance of Covington Township.  A copy of the ordinance can be found below and is also available at the Township office for review.  All interested parties are invited to attend.  The ordinance may be adopted at the conclusion of this hearing.


Township Offices closed

The Covington Township municipal offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday on Friday, April 7, 2023. The offices will re-open on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 8:00 am. Have a Happy and Blessed Easter 🐰







Accepting bids for painting at Moffat

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Covington Township Board of Supervisors will be accepting sealed bids for various painting projects, both interior and exterior, at the Covington Township Municipal offices, 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444.  Interested bidders should contact the office at 570-842-8336 or secretary@covingtontwp.org for the scope of work to be completed.  The sealed bids will be accepted until 12 noon on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 and will be opened at the next monthly meeting of the Township Supervisors to be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Office, 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444.  The township reserves the right to refuse any or all bids.


The board of supervisors is accepting letters of interest for the position of board supervisor. Letters should be submitted to the municipal office by February 28, 2025.
