The Board of Supervisors are holding a special meeting on Monday, January 10, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Office, 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444. The purpose of the meeting is the rescheduling of their January 3, 2022 monthly meeting. Masks are required for all attendees regardless of vaccination status. All interested parties are invited to attend.

The Covington Township Board of Supervisors will be holding it’s Re-organization meeting on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 7 pm. Job Opening: Police Officers
The Covington Township Police is currently accepting applications for highly motivated individuals to serve as part-time and full-time police officers at a starting hourly rate of $20.00 per hour.
This position involves a community policing approach to calls for assistance with the overall responsibility of protecting life and property. Duties include patrol, enforcement of vehicle and criminal codes, conducting criminal and motor vehicle accident investigations.
Qualifications:
~ High School or equivalent GED
~ Valid PA Drivers license with clean driving record
~ Clean criminal background; must be maintained throughout employment
~ PA Act 120 (Municipal Police Academy) required
~ Must maintain valid CPR/AED/First Aid certification
~ Prior Law Enforcement experience preferred but not required
~ Must be able to successfully work in stressful situations
~ Must use exceptionally good judgment
~ Possess good written and oral communication skills
~ Due to the nature of the position, must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a personable manner
~ Must be able to work well under pressure and deal effectively with regular interruptions while maintaining accuracy and showing patience for detail
~ Must possess strong computer skills, be willing and able to learn new systems and functions
~ Ability to work hours as necessary based on the needs of the department including overtime and various shifts

Santa’s Coming to town! This Sunday, November 28th, Covington Township Fire Company & Ladies Auxiliary will be parading Santa & Mrs. Claus around the township beginning at 1p.m. At all stops, Santa will be greeting the children to hear their Christmas lists and hand out treats. Santa & Mrs. Claus are meeting Covington Township’s Recreation Committee in the Hall Of Trees at Moffat Pavilion for their final stop.
