The work session scheduled for tonight, May 26, 2026 has been cancelled. The regular monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 7:00pm.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Zoning Hearing Board of Covington Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at the Covington Township Building, 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA  18444 for the purpose of receiving evidence and hearing testimony concerning the Application for a Variance-Telecommunication Tower (two (2) towers for out -door warning siren system) by the Eagle Lake Community Association, Inc. for the use of the real property owned by the Eagle Lake Community Association, Inc. for the property located at Eagle Lake off Route 435 (Covington Township) with a mailing address of P.O Box 305 Rt. 435 Gouldsboro, PA 18424 with Tax Parcel No. 227-020-80328 and Tax Parcel No. 220-040-20006. At issue are the requests for relief under the Covington Township Zoning Ordinance sections 404.6 titled “District Intents” “MP-RV-Mobile Home Park-Recreational Vehicle Park District”, 407 titled “Development Standards”, 519 titled “Towers” and 608.3 titled “Variances”. The property is located in a MP-RV- Mobile Home Park-Recreational Vehicle Park District of the Covington Township Zoning Ordinance

If you have any objection to said requests for relief, you should be present at said time and place as stated above to make your objection known to the Zoning Hearing Board or be represented by an attorney at that hearing.

In observance of Memorial Day, the municipal offices will be closed. We will re-open for normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 8:00am.

The municipal office will have reduced office hours on Monday, April 20th and Tuesday, April 21st. The office will be open from 8:30am to 3:30pm. The zoning officer will be in the office from 8:00am to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 21st. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The municipal office will be closed on Friday, April 24, 2026. It will re-open for normal business hours on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 8:00 am. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The municipal office will be closed on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. It will re-open for normal business hours on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 8:00 am. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

In observance of Good Friday, the municipal office will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026. The office will re-open for normal hours on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 8:00 am. Recycling will be OPEN on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 7:00am to 11:00am.

Covington Township’s Annual Spring Clean Up will take place on Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16th, 2026 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Residents should bring proof of residency. Please enter the Covington Fire Grounds rear parking via Dorantown Road and exit via Route 502.
