Zoning Hearing Board Public Hearing ~ Bonacci Variance

The Zoning Hearing Board to Covington Township will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Office, 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444 to hear testimony from Joe Bonacci on the following issue:  The application of Joe Bonacci for a variance to build an addition to existing structure in order to run a metal fabricating business in a C-2 zone.  This property is identified by tax map number 22701-010-003 and is located at 308 Drinker Turnpike, Covington Township, PA 18424.  All interested parties are invited to attend the hearing and to present testimony if they deem it appropriate.

 


Fireworks Extravaganza ~ NP Minisink Lions

The North Pocono Minisink Lions will host their Annual Fireworks Extravaganza on Saturday, July 8, 2023 with a rain date of Sunday, July 9, 2023.  The Gates open at 6:00 pm at the North Pocono Football Stadium.








Public Hearing ~ Short Term Rental Ordinance #2023-03

The Covington Township Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to consider adopting Ordinance #2023-03, Covington Township Short Term Rental Ordinance which will repeal Ordinance 2021-01, The Short Term Rental Ordinance of Covington Township.  A copy of the ordinance is available on the township website or at the township office. The ordinance may be adopted at the conclusion of this hearing.


Spring Clean-Up

The annual Spring Clean-up will be held on Friday, May 19th and Saturday, May 20th from 8am to 5pm only.  Like last year, there will be NO paper permits, you will need to show your photo I.D. showing your Covington Township address.  We are encouraging everyone to remove unsightly junk and debris from their properties.  The following items will NOT be accepted: Hazardous waste, gasoline, kerosene, paint, paint cans, oil, oil containers, combustible fuels, building materials, and household garbage.  With the exception of tires, the clean-up is free of charge.  There will be a fee for tires, which MUST be removed from their rims.  The entrance to the clean-up will be accessible from Dorantown Road (the road directly behind the Covington Fire Company) with the exit being via Route 502.
