The Municipal office will be closed on Friday, November 8th and Monday, November 11th. The office will re-open for normal business hours on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 8:00 am. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please be advised there is a BURN BAN in effect until FURTHER NOTICE for ALL of Covington Township. Due to the lack of rain coupled with the dry conditions please refrain from burning until further notice.

The planning commission will be holding its monthly work session on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the Municipal Office, 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444. The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to consider adopting Ordinance #2024-03, an Ordinance amending Ordinance #2023-05 (which adopted the 2021 Edition of the International Property Maintenance Code) to provide for civil penalties or summary fines for enforcement proceedings for violations of the code and adopt the boarding standards of appendix A of the Code. The public hearing will be held at the Municipal office, 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444 at 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Lackawanna County is developing a safety plan (Safe Streets Lackawanna) with the goal of making streets safer for not only drivers, but other road users like walkers, bikers, and transit users. We want to make sure that residents of Lackawanna County have their voices heard. To have your voice heard, please complete the survey found here: Mobility Needs Survey  There is also a Public Feedback Map that lets county residents identify specific streets, roads, and intersections where they see a safety concern. 

The Municipal Office will be closing at 1:00 pm on Wednesday 10/23, Thursday, 10/24 and will be closed on Friday 10/25.

The planning commission has cancelled their monthly meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

The municipal office will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024 in observance of Columbus Day. The office will re-open on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 8:00 am but will be closing at 1:00pm. Regular office hours will resume on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
