Reduced Office Hours

The municipal office will have reduced hours from July 28 thru July 31. The office will be open from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on July 28, 30, & 31 and will be open from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm on July 29th. The office will be closed on Friday, August 1st but will re-open for normal business hours on Monday, August 4th.

Public Hearing to amend Zoning Ordinance

The Covington Township Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 6:00pm in the Pavilion at the Moffat Estate, located at 20 Moffat Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444 to address the change in zoning district application received by 1778 Rich Pike, LLC. The application seeks to re-zone (7) parcels from RR (Rural Residential) to DCET (Data Center, Energy, and Technology). The Board of Supervisors will consider adoption of Ordinance #2025-03, An Ordinance Amending the Covington Township Zoning Ordinance of 1989, and All Subsequent Amendments, to Establish the Zoning and Standards for the Establishment, Construction, and Operations of Data Centers, to Allow for the Integration of an Allowed Industry while Providing for the Protection of the Public’s Health, Safety, Morals, and General Welfare. A copy of the ordinance is available at the Scranton Times, on the township website (www.covingtontwp.org, under hearing documents, Draft Ordinance #2025-03), and at the township office for review. All interested parties are invited to attend. A vote on the ordinance may be take place at the conclusion of the hearing.


Office Closing Early ~ 1:00pm

Due to the PSATS conference, the municipal office will be closing at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 5th, Tuesday, May 6th, and Wednesday, May 7th.  The office will re-open for normal business hours on Thursday, May 8th.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
