Recycling

There will not be any outside dumpsters for after hours drop-offs.

We are only accepting the following items:

  • Glass- bottles & jars only   (No lids & no broken glass)
  • Aluminum & steel/tin cans   (Throw away lids unless attached)
  • Plastic – bottles & jars  (No lids)  i.e. milk, juice, water, cleaners, soda
  • Newspaper, magazines, catalogs, phonebooks and brown bags
  • Office paper (computer paper, mail, envelopes)
  • Shredded paper (place in clear plastic bag ONLY)
  • Cardboard boxes (heavy shipping boxes) All boxes must be flattened and bundled or placed inside a larger box

Friendly reminder All glass, plastic and cans must be empty of all food and liquids, then thoroughly rinsed out before recycling.



Spring Clean-Up

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will NOT be any paper permits. Instead, you must present your photo I.D. showing your Covington Township address. Everyone is strongly encouraged to stay in their vehicles during this drop off. Township employees will be wearing masks and will unload the items you bring to the clean-up.


Memorial Day Service

Please join us at the Township’s Memorial (located next to the Police Department on Route 435) in honoring the many brave men and women who have faithfully served our country and gave their all. There will be an honor guard presentation by VFW Post 5207, guest speakers and light refreshments following the service. Face masks appropriately worn are required.



Public Hearing

Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to consider a Conditional Use Permit at the request of Teresa Tulaney to operate a small bakery business from her home. The property is identified as tax map number 21202-030-02302 and is located at 58 Hillcrest Drive, Covington Township, PA 18424. All interested parties are invited to attend.


Public Hearing

The Board of Supervisors will consider for adoption Ordinance 2021-02 granting LERTA status to North Point Development, LLC for its proposed development at 79 RGM Drive, Covington Township, PA 18444.  A copy of the ordinance is available for review at the Covington Township Municipal Building.  All interested parties are invited to attend.
